NO NO NO! WHAT is this!

When I appointed you to do the Museum's marketing and promotion, you said you knew what you were doing!

When I agreed that you could use some of my personal family photographs, I thought it was to make me look good.

Not make unwarranted and snide comments!

This HAS to go!

We are really not at all sure what you mean by 'unwarranted and snide comments' Director de Plume... but we certainly didn't intend to upset you.

All good promoters know that you have to sell the person, not the place.

And, you're a little... how can we put it... unapproachable. The punters can't identify with you. You're a mystery.

People need to be introduced to the REAL Incognita de Plume.

But PLEASE, tell us how to do our job, and we'll do it.

You're the boss...

Well just for a start – I didn’t expect that you were going to hide it in the Oubliette!

Are you insinuating that I’m already forgotten? I’ll have you know that I am at the peak of my profession.

And what do you mean by writing all over my picture? Isn’t it enough to have that nasty caption? And it’s not even true.

I want it changed! And I want it changed now!

What a terrible mistake! We mistranslated ‘Oubliette:! We thought it was for things that you’d rather forget…

Well now we know our error of course we’ll change the picture’s location just as soon as we can Janitorial onto it.

But we are not quite sure what you mean by the captioning being false. We double-checked the veracity of all the information.

Well, for a start Minister of Defence Inky is NOT called Master Studley whatever….

I’ve known the MoD since he was just a hatchling so I should know. I named him myself, after all!

I think you’ll find, if you just care to examine the proofs for the MoDs forthcoming exhibition of his collection, that his name IS in fact Master Studley Wilcock-Lusher III.

And, ummm, unfortunately the text is written on your photograph with indelible pen.

I’m afraid you’ll have to take it up with the Design Department.

And what’s this about his exhibition? This is the first I’ve heard about it.

Far too much is going on around here without my knowledge.

And the work is shoddy too. The Quin exhibit MUST be re-done immediately. And the mugshot show shouldn’t be being displayed in the Wunderkammer. It must be moved to the Picture Gallery as soon as possible.

We will have to have a staff meeting. Prepare an agenda and notify all the staff. I want to see them in the Board Room Monday first thing!

I stumbled across your clever and delightful blog, Director, as part of my librarianship research. I have however failed in my detective efforts, to discover the real person behind the non de plume. If you don't want to go public with this information for whatever reason, could you possibly email me? Kind regards, O mysterious one.
